I hate to disagree with you, Ruby. Handling them won't hurt them nearly as badly as the fleas will. They won't live for a month with fleas! Dip a washcloth--something soft--in the Dawn soapy water and wipe the babies gently. The fleas must NOT be allowed to stay on the babies.
