I had to semi wean Bubba and Kola when they were tiny. What I did was start with KMR 2nd step in a saucer the consistancy of normal milk. Each feeding I would make it a little bit thicker (more powder to the same amount of water). Then when it was like cruel, I'd mix in a little canned kitten food (I called it kitty pudding). Then I'd slowly add more canned food and taper off the KMR till they were eating just canned. I think that wet food is better for kittens to be sure they get enough moisture. After that, they learned how to eat crunchies just by seeing the big cats eat them. Good luck!
