New Behaviour

Not sure if she is still considered a kitten but my baby bijou, who is now 1 1/2, has adopted a new behaviour recently. She takes a sock in her mouth and walks around with it crying like crazy. We are not sure if this is something that we should be concerned about or something that needs to be looked in. Is she really sad and trying to tell us something?
