I would not worry about it. Some cats do that. In fact I have an 18 year old, Onyx who has a little collection of sockies and they are apparently her "kittens". She carries them around to the food and water dishes and when she is moving one she makes a very odd meow. She has done this for years. In fact all 6 of her "kittens" sleep together in a pile on a certain chair and the cat that tries to move one had best find a good hiding place cause she will tear them up and then put the baby back with the others .
