It's been mighty quiet on this board lately. Hope all is well with everyone.

Eddie has been going through a phase where he's trying to assert himself as the totally dominant kitty. He's been hopping up on the bed in the evening and positioning himself at the foot, facing the door to the hallway. He reminds me of a little gargolye, sitting there daring Emily to enter the room.

Unfortunately, she went through a several day period where she allowed herself to be intimidated. She'd go back downstairs and spend the night in the kitty bed in my office.

Last night I decided enough was enough. So I picked them both up and carried them around together for a while, telling them both how wonderful they were. Emily closed her eyes, put her head on my shoulder, and just purred and purred. It was almost like she needed to be reassured that she was okay.

It seems to have worked, because she slept on the bed all night.

What incredible little creatures...

Carol, Emily, & Eddie
