I only have a tonk (Sina is currently 10 months) but like you, before getting her I considered a burmese. Actually, I took interest in burms first. In the end, I couldn't find a burm breeder within even a day trip distance of my house, or at least none that had kittens when I was looking.

Once I found more info about tonks I determined that they were a better fit for me anyway. As far as attachment goes, my baby Sina is pretty much a velcro cat- she is sitting next to me right now. She also greets me at the door when I come home, follows me from room to room, and sleeps on my bed. I have another cat (a devon rex) but Sina would much rather be with me.
