Sina and I used to have an ongoing battle about her climbing the bird cage. She was absolutely relentless- always climbing it and sitting on top. I tried to discourage it, used the much-hated-water-bottle, but she just wouldn't give up. Finally, I decided to pick my battles. Sina doesn't hurt the bird (or even really notice that he exists) she just likes the view from on top of his cage.

That was fine, until Sina decided to teach my mom's sphinx a few tricks! Fuzzy (thats my nickname for him, as in "Fuzzywuzi was a bear..." is very sweet, very fat, and very stupid. I think he must have been oxygen deprived at birth, because sphinx are supposed to be a very smart breed. One day I glanced over at Sina climbing atop the birdcage, immediately followed by Fuzzy! Now, on his own, he can't even manage to figure out that he can climb over a baby gate (seriously)- now she taught him to climb a parrot-sized cage! Predictably, the next morning the fake flowers from atop the cage were strewn across the living room. I can only guess that with his 20IB bulk he wasn't very graceful getting on or off the cage.

He seems to have developed a thing for copying anything she does. She also taught him to play with the ferrets. This would be fine, except that he simply is too dumb to know to be gentle! Even with the other cats he doesn't seem to understand that biting hurts, and when they yowl he should let go. I know that sounds like he is being mean, but he is seriously just not very bright. So now he has to be kicked out of the room when the ferrets are out so he doesn't accidently hurt them.

I'm just hoping Sina doesn't teach him anything else!
