I do respect modern day Scrabble, it has to be a lot of work to learn all the two and three letter words that are not commonly used and are found mostly in Scrabble circles on lists and in the Scrabble Dictionary (vs. the standard English Dictionary). I love that friends of mine love it. Anything that gets people to use their brain and laugh is awesome (including the older style Scrabble).
