What a wonderful story and what a wonderful way for Romeo to show you some love in a memory years later!

I did some family research on my Mother's side (Dad was adopted). Found out I was related to Kit Carson. I brought this up at work one day while I was stationed in Germany in the late 80s, and one of the girls working with me said so was she! The irony was, we never really got along too well. She was kind of stand-offish (many said witchy). Well after this revalation, my "cousin" and I became fast friends. She came out of her shell quite a bit... We never really kept in touch, but it was neat to find the connection...
