I moved into Big Scary Man's home when we married two years ago which was done in a mix of mid-century Air Force tacky and cheap lawyer office. He LOVES medium tone oak wood grain, be it real or plastic. It really set off his display of aircraft parts set on a Battle of Britain tea towel with a charcoal drawing of John Wayne wrapped in saran wrap (not cellophane!) looking on, so he got the faux wood grain vertical blinds for all the windows except the kitchen. Did I mention the garage shelves in the living room? The recliners fit for "Fraiser"? I know I've mentioned the 2 armadillos perviously. It's a total Man Cave.

His aunt does set design for Christian television, so she had staged his mantel piece with books and photos. The lady has a flair, even with a poor selection of items to work with, but her taste is very ornate (the entryway to her home alone has more knick-knacks than I've owned in my whole life) so with much guilt, the mantel piece was cleared about a year after we married.

This house is a lost cause - too many battles for me to attempt the war, but we are thinning out his "collections" while we wait for the housing market to quit throwing up so we can start house shopping in earnest.

Next house - he is going to have one heck of a battle on his hands! Light, bright, easy to clean is my motto!
