The garage shelves are gone - they were the first thing I moved out. I cleared the walls of John Wayne and friends when we painted last winter, and finally gutted the living room of knick-knacks when we restored the hardwood floors a few months ago. Called it baby-proofing.
This is a photo I took for my mom in an effort to explain the battles we were waging. Notice the rock? Its his pet rock, minus the box, from the 70's. This armadillo was the one Punky broke (good girl!) There is a compressor wheel from an F-16 and the compass is from a F-4. The flag will come back out on display as soon as I find a display case that meets his requirements, but the rest of it? Do we really need a chinese finger trap out as a conversation piece?
Among all this 'stuff', we each brought art show pieces into the marriage of varying styles and quality. I pulled those pieces (mostly his) out to decorate for now.
