Like antiques but not the fragile glass kind. Wood and wierd usually fits in just fine and each piece was loved by some earlier owner. (With exception of mattresses and two recliners.) No one would ever accuse a decorator of being in here but they'd definitely know what I like when they walk in. I feel so sorry for people who live in rooms that they've bought off some showroom floor so none of their personality is in the home. No cutesy or current fad/styles (If you saw it in a furniture store in the past twenty years, I don't have it except for Ott lights.) but things range from primitives to a bright red metal stool. Carvings are good.
Earthy tones but with some turquoise, black, burgundy scattered in. Have always loved antique oak so anything I've purchased over the years is that. (Unfortunately, had to part with a lot of it several years ago but do still have some I love.) Sadly, this house is dark and nothing much to do about that. If I had a dream house up on a mountain with a view, it would have tons of windows and a wraparound porch and be packed with antique oak furniture!
