remember those "good" dishes your mom kept stored away, the ones you only saw once or twice a year..to me it's kind of like that...take them out and use them..if we aren't good enough for them , who is? Am I making sense here, or am I just rambling...

Yes. Just like the heirloom or "special" jewelry we keep locked up in a safety deposit box that we only wear on special occasions and never take out or see again... Just sits in a cold box waiting on the next generation to store it. I had a pair of my Grandma's jade earrings like that. Mom had them for years and gave them to me. I finally decided I would wear them more than special. Took them to a jewler to have them put from a post to a lever back/hoop style so I would wear them more (they are long jade "sticks" about an inch long that look good as a dangle. It was at the jewler's I found out that Grandma's cherished 70 or 80 year old jade earrings are... glass. LOL. I don't have the heart to tell Mom or whomever I pass them on to (a niece). They'll go down in history as jade (only I and the jeweler know). ----- Tammy and Pookey (Stanley 8/91 - 8/07)
