Yes, it will take approximately 6 weeks for the bone to heal so he needs to stay in cage rest until then - no jumping and playing with Boris. We do x-rays again around the 20th to make sure that the bone has stayed in place and healing properly since they had to put pins in the bone to hold it in place. He was only a good patient for 7 days and then he ripped out his stitches - not once but twice - the second time after we made an emergency vet run last Wednesday night to put stitches back in. We put him on an e-collar but he managed to get that off last Thursday and ripped the second set out. He is doing better and hopefully the e-collar can come off for good Saturday. He is starting to play with his toys in his cage and eat more so I know he is feeling better.
