I thought I would tell you a little about my feral colony. I hav e had the colony for over 10 years now. I named the colony Forlorn Ferals. The colony has gone from a high of 32 cats to 17 at the current time. The cats are trapped, altered and returned. Kittens are trapped and socialized for placement in new homes. They cats are feed once a day a mixtyure of canned & dry food.

During the time I have cared for the cats, several of the adults have tyamed themselves to a point where they come and brush my legs for pets. Others hang out on my porch. Some follow me in hopes of getting treats.

I am very attached to these ferals as much as if they lived inside with me, as do my 3 cats. My oldest feral was over 18 according to people who around when she was born. 18 years I think is something of a record life span for a feral cat.

2 of my 3 indoor cats were feral kittens and one has grown up to be the biggest lap/pet me cat I have ever had.

What are you experiences with feral cats? I know you must have some great feral stories to tell, so don't be shy. We want to hear all about them.
