A friend of mine has an male orange tabby he adopted from an ASPCA. I believe that cat is around 1 yr old.

The cat seemingly has digestive issues. He would scarf down food and then proceed to vomit it back up. He has also been coughing up a lot of hairballs recently.

His vet switched the cat to science diet sensitive stomach formula. The cat also vomited this, and then refused to eat it.

The cat has also become constipated. The vet suggest magnesium citrate to no avail.

On my advice, he has started feeding the cat a natural diet (raw meat or home cooked meats, rice etc . . .) which the cat now happily eats and keeps down.

However, the constipation is still an issue? Ultrasounds and xrays have been performed, but haven't provided any answers.

Any suggestions?
