My 9 year old Himalayan mix, Simba, looks like he's molting with big clumps of fur coming out of the right side of his neck up to his ear. I sort of recall him doing this about this time last year but not nearly as bad as it is now. He doesn't appear to be ill in any way but this really has me concerned because it doesn't look like it's going to stop. Right now our city is paralyzed under an ice storm but I plan on having him checked by the vet as soon as possible.

Do you think that this might be molting? Thanks.
