frontline must be placed directly on the skin, not the fur, on the back of the neck. Since the 2 cats that go outside apparently have already brought fleas into the house, you will need to treat all the animals in your house. The good news is that you need only do it once, as the Frontline will kill the fleas on the cats, and since it keeps working up to 3 months, about five times the life cycle of the flea, it will also kill any fleas now developing inside your house. The other animals should all be kept inside so as to avoid fleas. It is not necessary to treat the cats every month, or even every third month.
