Hello. My 5-year-old male DSH cat has been tentatively diagnosed with eosinophilic granuloma complex. We brought him in with a bald tummy and back legs, two small white ulcers on his lips, and dark non-inflamed spots over his eyelid (which I thought might be cancerous). (Also he has had a chronic problem with shaking his right ear since he was a baby; has an inoperable polyp that is too close to the brain.) The vet checked for tapeworm, negative. Malcolm was given a steroid shot (Depo-something) and put on Hill's z/d diet. It has been a few weeks and he is starting to lick his belly again. I do not want him to have to get more steroids, and there are some troublesome ingredients in the Hill's food (BHA, ethyoxyquin). We have not tried EFAs, as the vet said fish is one of the things he could be allergic to. I was wondering if you could recommend a holistic/homeopathic vet near me -- Bryn Mawr, PA (NW of Philadelphia). Also, if there's any immediate action we could take that you could recommend, of course that would be very helpful as well. Thanks so much.
