What can I do to bring down the amylase if everything else is normal?

For the last 5 years my cat has had annual & semi-annual blood tests. His amylase has been, over the 5 years, 1600 to 2400 and now, for the last 2 years holding at around 1600. All other blood tested items (and urine and stool) come back in the normal range. He is not turning down food and his drinking and urinating is normal.

My vet believes he has chronic pancreatitis.

He is currently on Science Diet W/D and I/D but he has lost weight. He is down 1 pound (currently at 8lb 5oz)from his usual weight of around 9lb and he is thin and sunken behind the rib cage.

The weight loss began about 8 weeks ago and is holding at the current level for the last 4 weeks.

He does like 9Lives canned food and according to the ingredients of 9lives the fat level is about the same as Science Diet W/D. Think I should give him this (which the other cats eat)?
