This is an upper respiratory infection, probably rhinotracheitis, a viral infection, although there is likely a bacterial component as well. This is very contagious amongst kittens, less so in adult cats. The vaccine will not prevent it, only reduce the severity. You might try homeopathic Euphrasia 30c and allium cepa 30c, once a day each. If no better, you could make a nosode from the discharge, or send some of the discharge to a homeopathic manufacturer to make.
