Hi,
What would cause a sudden metallic smell to the urine of an elderly neutered cat who is is otherwise good health after recovering from a light repiratory infection for which he was on antibiotics(Amoxicillin) for awhile.
I have been feeding him raw pureed beef or chicken with a little unflavoured yogurt and raw grated parnips and canned pumpkin added. As well, for kidney/liver support I'm giving daily Vitamin C(500mg), Vitamin B6(50mg), and milk thistle(100mg). I've been feeding this for a couple of weeks with no problem, now there's a metallic smell to the urine which is almost clear. There is normal consumption of water through the day and a normal number of times he urinates-it's not excessive. Is one of the above causing the metallic smell? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
