Boiling water will not necessarily get rid of all the grease, which may then form a film that will support bacteria. It is better to wash the bowl with warm water and soap, making sure the bowl is well rinsed afterwards. Glass, ceramic and metal bowls will rinse out easily. Plastic may hold the soap or fat, and is not good to use in any case.
