If you give her food twice a day, and she leaves a tiny bit, reduce it by that much. If she eats all you put out, and is looking for more, then you are not giving her enough. Cats will usually self regulate on a meat diet, but have a harder time with carbohydrates. It is not so bad if she doesn't eat all that she could, as the only known method to extend the average length of life is through a diet that contains only 70% of the calories of a normal diet.
