Get a washer with a hole size that fits the probe. Use JB-Weld - the black epoxy, and glue the washer over the screen hole so the cord will slip thru washer and screen.

The epoxy will keep the screen from fraying and smooth the surface so the probe will be safe from sharp wires. Then you can put some electrical tape or whatever if needed to make the cable more snug.
