One more tidbit - overhead lights for a kingsnake in a glass cage with full screen top - sucks. A kingsnake is not built to use that method for heating, plus it dehydrates the heck out of them. RI can be more about being dehydrated.

Or consider going with an oil-filled room heater and heat the entire room. Easiest method when keeping multiple species. Will make your ball pythons happy too. Lights are really harsh -they are an RI waiting to happen. Get a Ranco or Johnson ON/OFF temp controller to control the oil-filled room heater and you are good. Cheapest method overall, really easy and easy to maintain humidity. Then you can use glass cages.
