I have had boaphile cages since 2005 and the heat has performed like the day they arrived. They have always had snakes in them so to put it plainly, they have been on and working for about 9 to 11 years. Straight. When I purchased my first 16 four foot cages, knowing I was keeping boas, Jeff talked me into using double heat in the four foot cages. It was more expensive but I have never regretted that decision. They are awesome cages and never once leaked, cracked, bent or failed in any way, shape or form. Good luck. Mike
