Hi everyone. I have a concern that my BCC may have a respiratory illness. She is a little over 4 years old now and has never turned down food. Her enclosure has a good temperature range and humidity range and is kept clean but she seems to be ill.
She lets out a sigh every now and then when I hold her. There is no discharge from her nostrils or mouth and she doesn’t open mouth breath but the sigh she lets out doesn’t sound like normal behavior. This is coupled with a loss of appetite. I have monitored her condition for a few weeks and it has not changed.
Unfortunately in my area there are very few veterinarians who will see a snake. They’re considered “exotic pets”. (That is a little annoying to me) I know I can find a vet but I thought I would ask some folks if they have ever heard of this before.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. I have attached a photo of her. Hopefully it works.
