I was talking with Jon about how exciting this time of year is as Gilas will be hatching around Halloween (at least for us here at Goatsby’s Place) and he asked if there was a general calendar for breeding Gilas. This is an oversimplified version of events but it gives a general overview. Temperature is everything and I know folks that start earlier and hatch earlier, so I’d love to hear what everyone else does.

January - Brumation
February - Brumation
March - Warm up
April - Pairing
May - Pairing
June - Eggs
July - Eggs
August - Maintenance
September - Maintenance
October - Maintenance
November - Cool down / Hatching
December - Brumation

I guess my brain is not braining about this. My understanding was 6 months incubation, 180ish days. So "Halloween" threw me off because because June to Oct 31 is only 152 days. June 1 to Nov 31 is 182 days.

I'll go post my experience this year finally pairing Heloderma. TLDR, the two pairs I got viable eggs from were laid in July and August and hatched in Feb at 197 and 178 days. I know super limited experience, but that's where I'm fascinated about your timing.
