well curators and museum's staff members sure are busy people and it might take some time that they reply. Don't give up yet. Just be a bit more patient and give them a chance. Anyway, some of them also do some field work and they may be absent from the museum for a while. But in some cases you may be right, they will not respond to any request. That's what I told you before, right 
Doing literature research is the hardest thing in scientific work if you do not have a chance to visit a large library with scientific papers. You can not always assume that staff members will stand by the copy machine to copy 20 pages and send them to you via snailmail at the museum's cost. You should visit your nearest university and ask for access to the library. They usually will let you copy the papers you need.
