However, about ten years ago I was the store manager of one of central IL's best localy owned pet stores. We carried a lot of reptiles and many other pets. We also supplied many of our local teachers with class room pets and supplies. As a part of that, I did a lot of in room reptile talks. I gave a previsit check list to the teachers. This checklist told about propper hand washing before and after handling (lets not forget that we can give something to our herps).
