Has anybody had any experience with a softshell being able to climb a mesh fence ?
we put one of our softshells out in the pond yesterday, the entire pond is enclosed ina fence appx 20 inches high with a 1 1/2 inch lip and within a couple hours he was gone, he may have dug into the ground but we have searched the whole area carefully, the pond is only about 3 feet deep and 10 feet across and crystal clear so we know he is nowhere in the pond.
I had a spotted a year ago go over a wall and that is why we went to the fench with the lip at the top.

Thanks
