I asked my vet what to do about the sores on my softshell's shell and he told me: The water needs to be clean all of the time, softies are very delicate and need pristine water conditions. So you are gonna need to perform many water changes a week. As for the sores, take the turtle out of the water, dry him off, get some Betadyne and swab it onto/into the sores and then let it dry before you put him back into the water. He also told me to use Polysporin(not neosporin) as well. So what I did was apply betadyne one day, and the next day I applied Polysporin, and so on.
