My year old sinaloan lives in a Vision enclosure, which I until recently thought were escape proof. On feeding day I did my usual rummaging around in his cage, looking for him, and found that he had escaped. This was on the 18th. I then proceeded to turn the entire upstairs of my house upside down with the help of 2 friends and my husband with no sign of him. I had to go out of town for the following week, which left me pretty worried and sad. I had fears of my snake getting outside, or dying of thirst, or getting stuck in the ventalation system.

Well, tonight I stayed up late to catch up on all my email that had come while I was away. At about 1 am, I had a sudden urge to go looking again, since I figured he'd be active at that time of night. After glancing under the couches and shelves, I looked in the coat closet, moving a cardboard box aside. And there he was, coiled up next to some Halloween decorations... a bit dusty and thirsty, but otherwise ok.

He was gone a total of 11 days.

So my advice to any of you is don't give up... keep looking. Stay up until the wee hours of the morning and look in places you've already looked in. Good luck, and I hope you have a happy ending as well.

*trundles off to look for some sort of locking mechanism for Vision cages*
