If you have a full spectrum basking bulb you are missing UVB not UVA. Anyway, you can try feeding your turtle in a separate container, it may have trouble finding its food in a tank that big. Also crickets are good at catching a turtle's attention. If you just got the turtle it may need a few days to settle into its new home.
