Yes, what a pity...however, fortunately, amid the rocks there ARE jewels if we clear the rubble away...if you get my drift.
Speaking of jewels, we had a really large textilis (with glands intact!) on our property last Sunday. My 14 year old daughter calmly spotted it as we were checking our boundary fenceline. The funny thing about it was that I had just had a mental flash that a brown snake was near, but as I couldn't see anything, I just dismissed it as wishful thinking. Then Antares (my daughter) said "hey there's a big brown snake over there", and judging by its speed and direction of travel through the scrub, I must have almost stepped on it but didn't even see it!...Well at least my subconcious analytical reasoning skills are still functioning...I think I'll go to the optometrist tomorrow and get some eye transplants...
