Is it possible that a Phelsuma (mines is a P. laticauda laticauda) would lay alternating dud eggs? I came home from work this afternoon and as usual check on my geckos and I noticed that there was an egg on the bottom of the cage. The egg was yellow and wasn't properly shaped. Above the egg was wide open space other than the framing of her Reptarium. The first egg that she laid after about a month in captivity was probably a dud as well as she just laid it from the framing of the Reptarium instead of securing it at the axis of a leaf while spending two hours shaping it and waiting for it to harden. Her second egg which I watched for two hours as it was being shaped and hardened at the base of a bromeliad leaf did hatch, however, the baby gecko somehow escaped from it's Kritter Keeper. Anyways, my question is, has anyone ever noticed their Phelsuma alternating dud eggs with fertile eggs?
