I have a female PM Grandis and she is just not acting or looking quite right. Her bright neon green coloring is turning a dark brownish green, she's not as active as she usually is and she is spending quite a bit of time sitting on the ground. She spends very little time hanging out on the glass and seems to have abandoned her favorite hiding/sleeping place - a hollowed out bamboo "tube". I got her as a rescue about 3 and 1/2 years ago and she was an adult when I got her so I don't know her exact age. She has a "bent" tail due to deplorable husbandry before I got her, but has been perfectly healthy for the last 3 years. About a week ago, I did a major cleaning of her cage, so at first I just thought it was stress from that, but she's not getting better, so I don't think that's it. I don't want to stress her anymore by taking her to the vet unless I really, really need to.

She has a nice, healthy weight, good size calcium sacs and a healthy adult male that she lives with. No breeding behavior for about the last year, but they seemed happy and healthy so I just let them be. I've increased the temps on the warm side of the cage a bit and replaced her UV light (the old one was about 5 or 6 months old). Any ideas what could be wrong? When do I risk even more stress by taking her to the vet? Some people might not have noticed the changes so it isn't anything drastic, but I know my girl and something isn't right.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Lisa
