I noticed a lump on my painted turtle near the rectum area. At first I just thought it was some poo and let it slide. Well I found out today that it is permanet. My guess it's a hernia, total butt blow out. Any tips on what I should do?

Other than the huge bulge/bump he seems to be fine, swimming around, and basking in his light. It's cooler now so he's not eating.

He's over a year old and about as big as a palm, 4 inches.

Not sure what to do. The vets in my area ( southern MN ) do not work with reptiles.
