Does the office use any live houseplants as decorations? Virtually all houseplants that you buy from home depot, nurseries, drug stores or even supermarkets, all originate from growers down in Florida. Quite frequently, these plants transport 'hitchhikers', as they are shipped from where they are grown, to where they are then distributed to households and businesses. Brown anoles are very commonly seen popping up 'mysteriously' in offices and homes, because they either hitch a ride within the plants themselves, or eggs laid within the soil of the pot hatch after arriving in the plant's permanent location.

This would be my guess as to how a brown anole got into your office. It is a very common occurrence, yet people always fail to look deeper/overlook into how it could have gotten there.

The horticultural industry is a big-time transporter of exotic and potentially invasive species. Arthropods and fungi are big-time 'hitch hikers' which have the ability to pose a greater threat than some little anoles..
