The rosys with the blood red stripes you are referring to are crossed locale rosys. I have not seen any in 17-18 years but they are a result from a coastal x triv triv. Then you raise the babies up and breed them back together. This second gen (F2) will produce the blood red stripes. The first gen will not.

The blood red striped ones were real common back then. I have no idea what happened to them.
