In the very middle of “Sierra de la Almenara” a vast area included within the European Union’s Sites of Community Interest network (SCI) and Birds Special Protection Areas network (SPA), has been reasssessed to construct a huge Golf Resort. Some of the threatened species involved are the Spur Thighed Tortoise (Testudo Graeca) and the Bonelli’s Eagle (Hieraaetus fasciatus). [ Hide Replies ]
