The other is perfect. They are from the same clutch of eggs, same humidity, same diet, same substrate, same UV light. The one that is showing the pyramiding is the more rapidly growing of the two. I read somewhere and I am beginning to believe it that in the wild tortoises do not grow as quickly and in captivity they grwo quicker and that may be the culprit. Sort of makes sense if you grow your shell too quickly you may grow abnormally. I tried to feed them every other day and that was a disaster. They acted starving on the second day and ate like crazy. So now I give them a smaller amount everyday and that seems to hold them. | ||
