It appears in one of the pics to be 'steep' on the sides and pretty deep (maybe 4" or more?). The problem could be this: The tortoise could walk/fall in and not be able to get back out. Even worse could be if the tortoise were to fall on its back into the water (upside down). In this scenario it would surely drown if it's too deep and does not have 'foot holds' to turn itself back over with. I use water troughs and fill the bottom with large (3" [ Hide Replies ]
