XIAMEN EVENING NEWS (China) 10 August 06 Man snags duck-gobbling python
A duck raiser in Xiamen of Fujian Province waited days and nights in the duck house for the "criminal" responsible for the loss of over 200 ducks in recent months to discover that the perpetrator was, in fact, a python.
During the last two months, Shen found that the number of ducks he raised was decreasing sharply, and sometimes dozens of ducks would mysteriously disappear overnight.
At midnight Monday, Shen spotted a 2-metre-long python swallowing a duck. Its stomach was swelling, indicating that it had swallowed at least one more duck. Shen boldly approached and caught it in a net.
Authorities have taken the python away and plan to set it free in forests soon.
