This is a loaded question as everyone uses different stuff. there are so many racks out there you can buy, and tanks that are atackable too.
If you want to build racks there are hundreds of ideas in various materials from simple bookcase like shelving to far more sophisticated plastics. Raintree Herp, you can find on the wen, sells a smart set of rack buidling plans if you own a router and are handy with tools. The tubs hand over heat tape.
A simpler version is four 1x2 or 1x4s as vertical uprights. 1x2s on either side front to back that a tub hangs from, and then a routed groove at the top of each tub (in the uprights) that peg board glues in to make a breathable top. this top becomes the surface you mount heat tape or heat rope to for the next tub above so you leave about 1/4 of clearance and up you go to as high as you want.
These are real simple and you can add casters. The sliders for the tubs give the bracing for teh side vertical boards, and the sheets of peg board connect the two sides.
By the time you are done though you have dropped one to two hundred in lumber and some time....and you start to wonder why didn't I just buy Vision or similar rack systems. ----- Mike and David at 3-D Pythons
