Thanks Althea. These striped barks are very common here in south Texas, and sometimes turn up inside the house, which freaks out my daughter and my wife. I have never been stung, but I have heard that their sting is about as bad as a wasp sting. We are supposed to have a few other species here, but I have not positively seen any others.
