I agree 100%. I live in a pretty well developed area in the northeast, and I've run across a total of 5 snakes in my entire life (2 black rats and 3 eastern garters). When I read posts from Southerners about finding corns and rats and racers & etc. all over the place, I get jealous and want to move down there. I can't find snakes even when I go looking for them (not even freaking brown snakes, which apparently are everywhere except where I look), let alone scorpions, lizards, and other cool stuff like that.
