I am going to be purchasing a number of 48" black plastic cages from constrictors northwest, I will be using either radiant heat panels or ultratherm heat mats, the snakes will be sub-adult/adult boa constrictors. I am going to stack the cages all in the same room. I want to know if it is safe to use one thermostat for all the cages; I have looked at product descriptions for a number of thermostats and haven't found a really comforting answer.

I have kept reptiles for many years but always in glass aquaria converted to reptile cagees; I have no experience with manufactured caging. My common sense tells me that each cage should have its own thermostat/probe, so that the other boas won't be affected by a change in one cage, i.e. a cage on the floor will be cooler than the ones in the middle or the top. I am very concerned about overheating my boas.

Any comments/opinions would really be appreciated, thanks!
