here in new york it is illegal to own any venemous animal including rear fanged snakes. it is actually noted on the law books. you can obtain a special licence(sp) but from everyone i know of that has tried they have been denied for various reasons. the only ones i know of that have licences are the ones that were grandfathered in and they are not allowed to obtain anymore or breed what they have. they must also renew their licence every 2 years and if you are late in renewing they will confiscate your animals.
